9:00 AM Catastrophe & Insurance
This course examines how natural and human-caused catastrophes affect insurance markets, policy design, pricing, and industry capacity. Participants gain a practical understanding of how insurers, reinsurers, governments, and consumers respond to catastrophic risk across property, auto, health, and commercial lines.
11:00 AM: Ethics
This course equips insurance professionals to recognize ethical risk in real client situations, interpret regulatory expectations in plain language, and apply ethical frameworks to everyday decisions involving coverage, disclosure, and client trust. Students leave with practical tools for identifying gray-area scenarios, documenting sound judgment, and protecting both their clients and their professional license.
1:00 PM: Wage Against the Machine
This course equips insurance professionals with practical, classroom-ready ways to teach budgeting, credit, insurance, and other core financial concepts to young adults. Participants learn how to present these topics in clear, age-appropriate, and non-promotional language that aligns with Oregon’s new financial literacy graduation requirements.
